Section 12 : Evaluation 6: Audience

We first discussed that our media project would be aimed at people of our age, slightly below and up to around 40. So 15-40 was our main target audience. This was because our film needed a certain level of understanding to understand the sinister undertones and events that smaller children or elderly people may not be able to grasp. Obviously our target audience would be people who enjoy the thrill of a film, or people who like films such as Se7en, as I think ours slightly relates to the mysterious and unknown storyline, character plots etc.. however this would be shown more in our film if we were able to produce the rest of it alongside our 3 minute intro.


We made our film a certificate 15 as i've said above, I think children wouldn't really be able to cope, as in the introduction there are some slightly disturbing scenes which I don't think would be suitable. I dont think our film would appeal to people outside the target audience unless somebody who wants to start watching thrillers, wants to. However we could attract the odd elder person as they would still be into thriller films past 40. Elder people and younger children however, we wouldnt want them to watch it, as they would not grasp it - but I dont think they would choose to watch something of this degree.
